This week we will learn from seven-year-old Nora Nicholson. She shows you how to make your very own squishy! Nora has learned to perfect this craft and would love to share. Roll your sleeves up, grab some supplies and get ready to get creative!
How to Make a Squishy
"I like squishes because they are cute and squishy and they are awesome cutest gift."
Step 1:
Cut out your shapes with the foam for the squishy design of your choice.
STOP! Think first about what shape you are cutting. Don’t make it too small your first time. Maybe start with an avocado.
Step 2:
Roll up your sleeves! Paint your squishy the main color you want them to be (you will add your details later). If your squishy has separate parts or shapes use the puffy paint or glue to put them together.
Step 3:
Wait for them to dry. I recommend overnight.
Step 4:
Repeat steps 3 and 4 two times to get a good coat of paint on your squishy!
Step 5:
Now you are ready to paint your details. I use tiny toothpicks to add the details like the face. Be careful for the wet paint when you are creating the details!
Nora says, "I plan on making squishys when my dad goes on his deployment. I will send him some in his care package!"
